Screen printed and home dyed tee in organic cotton. The first screen, for the background of the face, was used uncoated or exposed, and the shape was pushed through it by hand on the printing table. The second and third screens, Jason’s painting, were then printed over the top of the background colour,.

Finally the garments were dyed at home, using powdered dyes scattered across the damp fabric, forming subtle, painterly spots and marks across the garment.

Jason Jägel is a painter, educator, and commissioned public artist based in San Francisco. His work uses the syntax of comics to conjure fictional worlds where anything can happen at anytime, like everyday life.
